Jahrhundert bis zur Gegenwart Die Ausstellung thematisiert die idyllischen und abgründigen Seiten des Kindes in der Schweizer Kunst vom ausgehenden 18. Jahrhundert bis zur Gegenwart. Über die Epochen hinweg lassen sich Kinderbilder wie Sittengemälde ihrer Zeit lesen. Jenseits von heiterem Kinderglück und Mutterliebe stellen sich Fragen nach Erziehung und Missbrauch, Sexualität und moralischem Wandel, nach Einsamkeit, Krankheit und Tod. Die Hängung folgt keinem chronologischen, sondern einem thematischen Konzept, so dass die Werke über die Jahrhunderte hinweg in einen spannungsvollen Dialog treten und unser häufig klischiertes Bild einer heilen Kinderwelt relativieren.
