Laura Kuch - works

Talking about this work for 1 hour 2 minutes and 27 seconds
(DVD-PAL, 1h 2min 27s), 2007

This Video has to be displayed as big video-projection (not smaller than 3m x 2m). What you see is me talking into the camera but you will hear no sound.
In this video I’m talking about the work itself - whatever this means - cause as soon as I claim to talk about the work, just everything can be a part of it. But obviously I got a lot to tell about the work and actually there is a long and intense story behind. The way I’m talking is kind of unnaturally, this means I speak all the time, keeping my mouth in movement for more than one hour (which means the outcome will be a kind of a stream of consciousness) and my eyes looking straight into the camera all the time. The work or I seem to try to convince of something and (desperately) demand something from the viewer, but the information can only be experienced intutionally and not via verbal communication.
To me the work came out to be an image of my perpetual struggle doubting/finding the right to exist for my works and the maybe foolish wish to be “convincing”.
